Nadia, reminding her father that she doesn’t like his whiskers.
That’s what I love about children. They can and will be honest with you.
Funny. I have worn a close-cropped beard for probably 20 years now. About 7 years ago (son age 8, daughter age 4), I decided on a whim to shave it off just to see/remember what I look like without it. I didn’t announce to my family that I was doing this. When I walked out of the bathroom, my son saw me first: “Daddy, you look like a robot. What did you do?” Then my daughter: “It looks ugly. Grow it back.”
Welcome to HONEYSMOKE.
I am a writer, teacher, and blogger. Honeysmoke describes the color of my skin and is a childhood nickname. Mom provided the honey tones, Dad, the smoke.
Take a look around. Enjoy!
