Armed Guards At Schools?

Today, just minutes before the school Christmas program began, children at Simone and Nadia’s school rang 26 bells for the children and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Mothers in front of and behind me teared up.

One the very same day, the National Rifle Association suggested the only way to fight the bad guys is with armed good guys at every school.

The only way to stop a monster from killing our kids is to be personally involved and invested in a plan of absolute protection. The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre

That is not the answer. I’m leery of anyone who believes there is only one solution to a problem. Americans can’t even properly fund the education happening inside of schools. Try again, please.

Eugene Robinson says it better.

I have signed the President’s online petition for tighter gun control legislation and I have written my Congressmen/women.  I am praying that this issue does not fade in the background and that sanity will prevail.  More guns is an absurd  solution.

Agreed. Fund education and the basic needs of children to the fullest before you put an armed TSA style minimum wage in schools to ‘protect’ the kids.
Geez, did they really think that would fly?
