Biracial Advantage?
A new documentary, scheduled to air today in London , asks Is It Better To Be Mixed Race?
Aarathi Prasad, a geneticist and mother of a mixed race child, challenges the idea of racial purity and explores claims that there are biological advantages to being mixed race.
Using scientific research and studies, Prasad shows there is evidence that suggests those of diverse genetic backgrounds have better physical and mental health than those who do not.
I am intrigued, but I do find such talk more divisive than unifying. Take a look at this essay and see what you think.

When I'm not working on this blog, I am a wife, mother, journalist, writer, teacher, sock picker-upper, referee, vice president of household finance, cruise director, short-order cook, chauffeur, kisser of boo-boos, and a whole bunch of other stuff that doesn’t pay much.
Interesting… I want to watch the four part series from Channel 4 but I get a message that says “This service is not currently available in your area” when I try to watch them. So frustrating!
I had a similar problem. All I can do is hope it will appear on YouTube. I also will see if I can get a review copy.
