Picture This

There is a new photo in the header today, thanks to Studio Blu Images. Carrie Pratt, the owner of the company, is a photojournalist and has taken our family portrait many times over the years. (She took the previous header photo, too.) I love her eye, or how she views life through her lens. She puts children at ease and photographs them just being kids. Carrie is based in Tampa Bay and travels for assignments. Check out her blog, where she often features her award-winning work.

Honeysmoke is the color of my skin and a childhood nickname. Mom provided the honey tones; Dad, the smoke. When I'm not working on this blog, I am a wife, mother, journalist, writer, teacher, sock picker-upper, referee, vice president of household finance, cruise director, short-order cook, chauffeur, kisser of boo-boos, and a whole bunch of other stuff that doesn’t pay much.
