My Books
The Color of Their Skin is an 80,000-word memoir. It traces the experiences I have as a black mother raising biracial daughters who look more like their white father.
The book is a moving account of race relations and will inform readers and challenge them to rethink their feelings on this still hot-button issue. Despite diversity in the White House, and a growing acceptance of multiculturalism, the one-drop rule still applies in many quarters.
Golden — (Has not yet been published)
Golden is a 32-page nonfiction book for children ages 5 to 12. The manuscript is based on three conversations I had with my oldest daughter, Simone. Golden is told from a child’s point of view and takes readers on a lyrical journey with a little girl as she discovers her skin tone.

Hi,
I would love to purchase a copy of your book when it is published.
I went to the African American Children’s book fair last weekend and it would have been good to meet you and read your book there!
I hope it’s published soon.
All the best,
Lilly

You are too kind. I hope I will be sharing the book with others very soon.
Would it be possible to post a link(s) to where readers can purchase your book? I haven’t been able to find it on the usual book sites (amazon, B&N, etc.). Thank you.
Hi,
Thanks for your note. My book has not yet been published.
